First, load the car and we're off! Once there the learner can have fun in the sea, make a sandcastle, choose some beachwear, make sandwiches, explore the coastline with a telescope and see what they can find in a rock pool. Finally they must clear up the beach before going home.
Let's Go To The Seaside (Let's Go To The Beach in the USA) is a delightful story based program with decision making activities and animations to link the story together. It encourages the discussion or preferences and promotes life skills.
The program is also useful for developing early reading skills, recognising patterns and matching sizes and colour. It covers staying safe in the sun and picking up litter. Learn a simple sequence by making an on-screen sandwich. There are fun creative activities too.

The story and presentations are aimed at students of all ages, principally with severe learning difficulties and/or little reading ability, but the program is suitable for young children as well. The large eye-catching animations are designed with the visually impaired student in mind and fun for all of us! The interaction on each page (things to click on) has been intentionally limited, for students learning scanning using one or two switches.

Curriculum assessment and targets

Though not directly linked to any one system of measurement or assessment, the clear graphics and defined concepts in the Let's Go series are excellent for use as part of the curriculum. EQUALS, P-LEVELS, B-Squared, PIVATS, ASDAN and other foundation stages of learning have all been taken into account when designing the programs. Special needs teachers, people working with SLD adults and visually impaired learners all form part of our consultancy team.
